Augmented Reality in Logistics 4.0: implications for the human work

The Industry 4.0 paradigm is spreading in logistics processes since integrating technologies tasks guarantees several benefits compared to traditional processes. However, there are still open questions related impacts on the workforce, including problems skills, competence, and ethical social issues. This paper focuses one of main used logistics: Augmented Reality (AR). Based a deductive research approach, which considers well-founded knowledge represented by extant literature mediated authors’ direct experience interacting with companies, applications AR field its implications for human work investigated. In particular, three activities most impacted implementation analysed (warehouse, transportation, training), focusing both terms support augmentation operators some disadvantages, technical limitations, barriers observed during practice experimentation.
